Thursday, The Shreveport Fire Department hosted the Urban Search and Rescue Louisiana Task Force Three training drill. The team used a structure previously damaged in the Queensborough neighborhood. The task force is apart of the Louisiana Response Team.
The team simulated search and rescue on a home struck by a tornado. The training covered all aspects of a response from the initial call and report of a missing person; post natural disaster; and locating and removing a victim.
“The intent of the drill is to practice our shoring, logistics, and planning. The goal is to get everyone working together,” said Joe Prator.
Louisiana USAR Task Force Three is made up of Shreveport Fire, Bossier Fire, and Caddo and Bossier Fire Districts.
