Louisianians head back to the polls for run-off elections

Early voting opens Saturday in Louisiana’s Dec. 8 runoff election, with a contested seat to be the state’s election chief at the top of the ballot.

Democrat Gwen Collins-Greenup and Republican Kyle Ardoin are in the race to become Secretary of State.  The November 6th election day brought out a large number of voters across the state, however, the December 6th runoff election is during the holiday season and fewer people are expected to show up at the polls.

The early voting period runs daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through December 1st, except Sunday, at the parish registrar of voters’ offices and other locations.

The deadline to register to vote in person or by mail is December 12th.
