LSU football legend Billy Cannon died Sunday morning, according to the university. He was 80 years old.
Cannon, won the Heisman Trophy as a halfback in 1959.
Cannon is best remembered for his punt return against Ole Miss on Halloween night of 1959, leading the Tigers to a 7-3 victory against the Rebels.
The Philadelphia, Mississippi native went on to play professional football for the Houston Oilers, Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs.
