Hundreds of people filled the Shreveport Convention Center to witness a monumental moment.
More than 100 LSU Health Shreveport Medical Students put on their white lab coats. This milestone symbolizing the transition from classroom to clinical learning.
Each student pinned and recited an oath as family and friends look on.“It means the world to us to be able to make it. Especially to me. Just because we’ve been in school this long. We’ve been working this hard and it’s just that much closer to our goal,“ said Mariah Allen, Medical Student.
“We are going to be able to be somebody’s doctor. We’re going to get to care for patients and get to see everything we’ve been working for come to fruition,“ said Katy Bland, Medical Student.
Also 20 members from the class of 2020 were inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
