Two LSUS student groups receive awards from the Louisiana Safety and Transportation Coalition Friday.
The students had to create a 30 second PSA about impaired and distracted driving.
The competition was open to every college in the region and both teams from LSUS were the winners.
“One of the things we though about for our young drivers was some sort college competition because college students will listen to other college students and in our area 50 percent of the roadway fatalities are young drivers,” said Shelly Barrett, NWLA Transportation Safety Coalition.
The videos were made by The Almagest and the American Advertising Federation of LSUS.
The awards came with a six-hundred dollar check each, which the chancellor matched.
