A man is dead and a woman was injured following a double shooting in Shreveport’s Highland neighborhood Saturday.
Raymond Grant, 26, was pronounced dead at University Health Hospital around 11 p.m. Saturday; but the identity of the woman has not been released.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m. on July 14, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to a residence in the 100 block of East Olive Street relative to a shooting. As officers arrived at the scene, they found Grant with multiple gunshot wounds and a 24-year-old female shot in the arm.
Both victims were transported via ambulance to University Health Hospital, where the man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced deceased shortly on arrival.
The female victim, whose injuries were considered non-life-threatening remains hospitalized.
Based on preliminary findings, it is believed the pair was seated inside an SUV parked in the driveway of the residence when a man armed with a gun, approached the vehicle and opened fire, striking both victims.
Two juvenile children present inside the SUV at the time of the shooting were not injured. Police are seeking to identify and apprehend the man responsible for the shooting.
