A Grand Jury has indicted a man for the Nov. 2017 fatal shooting of a high school football player in Webster Parish.
Joshua Darelle Lewis, 18, of Cotton Valley, was indicted on Jan. 22, for second degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Jaylen Thomas, of Cullen.
Lewis was arrested in late November for Thomas’ murder.
According to Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd, Lewis and Thomas were big brothers to two younger men who were in an argument. They decided to call on big brothers Lewis and Thomas for help and that’s how Lewis ended up shooting Thomas.
Lewis’ arraignment has been set for Feb. 12. His bond has been set at $2 million.
