A man was shot while riding a bike Monday night in Shreveport.
It happened just after 8:00 p.m. along Legardy Street.
Police found 34-year-old JaMichael Armstrong with at least one gunshot injury to the upper body. Armstrong told officers that he was riding his bicycle in the block and an unknown black male, armed with a handgun, approached him and fired multiple shots in his direction, striking him at least once. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. Armstrong was transported to University Health Hospital with what was described as life-threatening injuries.
Investigators with the Violent Crimes Unit and Crime Scene Units responded to the scene. Evidence was collected and detectives spoke with several witnesses who advised that they did not see the incident unfold. The investigation is ongoing.
