A Shreveport man who was stabbed by his girlfriend is facing charges after he allegedly hit her multiple times in the head.

The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m.  Tuesday in the 1300 block of Arlington Ave.

When officers arrived they learned that 43-year-old Frederick Dean had been stabbed in the arm.  Dean was taken to University Health for treatment.

Investigators say Dean came to Lakisha Young’s home drunk and talking loudly.

When Young asked Dean to lower his voice, he allegedly began hitting her in the face and head with a closed fist.

Young then armed herself with a knife and stabbed Dean in an effort to stop him but he continued
beating her until a family member arrived at the home.
Dean remains in police custody at University Health. Once released he will be booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of Domestic Abuse Battery.
