Man wanted for setting car on fire with pregnant woman inside

Shreveport Fire Investigators need your help tracking down a suspect accused of setting a car on
fire while a pregnant woman was inside the vehicle.

SFD has obtained an arrest warrant for 31-year-old Demario Cortez Johnson, of Shreveport, who
is charged with Aggravated Arson.  Johnson’s bond will be set at $750,000.

A woman, who was seven months pregnant, was inside the car that Johnson allegedly set on fire.  The woman suffered minor burns on her body.

Aggravated arson is the intentional damaging by any explosive substance or the setting fire to any
structure, watercraft, or movable whereby it is foreseeable that human life might be endangered.

Whoever commits the crime of aggravated arson shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than
six nor more than twenty years, and shall be fined not more than $25,000.   Two years of such
imprisonment at hard labor shall be without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of
sentence.
