Man who went on south Louisiana killing spree indicted

(KLFY) A Livingston Parish grand jury has indicted the man accused in the brutal killing of his girlfriend, her father and her younger brother on Jan. 26 at their home in Livingston Parish, and then driving to Ascention Parish where he killed his parents. 

Dakota Theriot, who droved to Virginia and was apprehended there on Jan. 27,  was brought back to Louisiana, where he now will face three counts of first-degree-murder in Livingston Parish, according to the District Attorney’s office there. 

He is accused in the deaths of  Billy Ernest, 43, Tanner Ernest, 17, and Summer Ernest, 20, Livingston Parish.

The grand jury at the District Courthouse came down with the indictment at 10:30 this morning.  

Theriot is scheduled to be in court at 9 a.m. March 18 for a preliminary examination hearing.

He also is charged in the deaths of his parents, Elizabeth and Keith Theriot, both 50, in Ascention Parish.
