The Marshall Police Department obtained an arrest warrant charging Derrick Dewayne Johnson of Marshall, Texas with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon April 3.

This charge stems from the shooting incident that occurred the night of April 1 near the intersection of Dogan and Winston streets.

Mr. Johnson turned himself into the Bossier City Police Department April 3 and remains in custody pending his transfer back to Harrison County.

The warrant affidavit alleges that 30-year-old Derrick Dewayne Johnson intentionally fired into a vehicle occupied by 17-year-old Savannah Carpenter who was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
