In recognition of the 2018 Martin Luther King, Jr, Birthday Celebration Mary Springhill AME Church will host a symposium on Monday, January 15th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The name of the symposium is “Where Do We Go from Here: Chaos or Community?”

This symposium will address Social Equality, Economic Equality and Racial Equality.  Panelist include Lady Carlson of Interfaith Coordinator; Lynn Cawthorne, Caddo Commissioner District D; Steven Jackson, Caddo Parish Commissioner District 3; Shreveport City Attorney William Bradford; and Jeff Everson, City Council Member District B.  Marquel Sennet, KMSS FOX 33 News Anchor will serve as the moderator.

Dr. King was working on The Poor Peoples Campaign at the time of his death. Therefore, with the climate of the United States and the equality disparities of our community we feel compelled to host this symposium. In addition to the symposium, to promote Economic Equality we’re hosting a Job Fair on Saturday, January 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
