Michael Lawrence Tyler, also known as the rapper ‘Mystikal’, waived arraignment and pleaded not guilty on charges of first degree rape and second degree kidnapping today in Caddo District Court.

Tyler was scheduled to be arraigned in September and again in November, but showed up in court without a lawyer, so Caddo District Judge Ramona Emanuel continued the arraignment – twice.

But today, Timothy Yazbec of the Smith and Fawer law firm in New Orleans stood with Tyler, as Judge Emanuel and set January 18, 2018 for further hearings, which will include a motion to reduce the rapper’s bond of $2 million.
