A prominent surgeon is leaving the University Health system for Rutgers University.
Dr. Anil Nanda, a neurosurgeon of 27 years at the company, says Shreveport has had a distinct impact on him. Especially, the patients.
“I always felt that I needed them more than they needed me,” Nanda said. “It was a real privilege to take care of people in their darkest hour.”
His superior said the opportunities he paid for those around him are monumental.
“He built a neurosurgery department that’s integral to our trauma program and integral to building neurosurgery at this hospital,” said University Health President Mark Randolph.
