NASA program holds meeting in Shreveport

LSU Health Shreveport is hosting the 2018 LaSPACE Fall Council Meeting.

The Louisiana Space Grant Consortium (LaSPACE) is a member of a nationwide organization that partners NASA with colleges, universities and other space related institutions to promote scientific research, workforce development, and public outreach to develop and strengthen long-term research capabilities that will make significant contributions to the research and technology Mission Directorates of NASA.

Students apart of the LaSPACE program are showing off their yearly research of aerospace applications projects.

Rachel Hegab is apart of LaSpace and she says, “its a blessing, because it is a great opportunity, it opens a lot of doors for undergrad students.”

John Aguillard former NASA intern says,”they funded my first NASA internship, and that was really the door that opened for me, like I said for somebody growing up on a farm in Alexandria, Louisiana, to go to NASA and work on rovers and space craft, it was really a special opportunity and it was something really unique this program can offer.”
