A Natchitoches woman has been arrested on 15 counts after a two-month investigation into the theft of money and a debit card from a woman’s purse by the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Department’s HighTech Crime Unit.

Tammie Lynn Brian, 34, was taken into custody Thursday and booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on one count of theft, seven counts of unauthorized use of an access card and seven counts of illegal transmission of monetary funds.

Deputies responded to the complaint on Nov. 27, and were able to identify Brian through evidence gathered at the financial institution along with surveillance video at retail stores where she had used the debit card. Those things, along with an interview with Brian gave investigators enough information to ask for a warrant for her arrest.

She is being held on $25,000 bond.
