Neighbor wakes up to sewage pipes in yard

The city is upgrading its sewer system.

The current system is more than 40-years-old.

The work being done on Deer Park Rd. is phase two of five phases.

The estimated cost of this phase is around $150M.

The city says they are $50M under budget but that could change.

Neighbors are happy about the improvements but wish it wouldn’t have been a surprise.

“I wasn’t notified so I was like, is this where the city just dumps everything. Nobody got any notifications or anything” said Stephen English, who woke up to more than a dozen sewage pipes in his yard.

City workers say you can find out everything you need to know about this project online.

Here’s a direct link.

Construction workers tell us they will be working in this area for about six to eight months.
