Neighbors hope arrest is made in Marshall drive by shooting

Local News

A house in Marshall is hit with gun fire during a drive by shooting.  Surveillance cameras captured the shooting and Tuesday its being used to find the person responsible.

Friday night, just after 11 this normally quiet Marshall neighborhood, was disrupted by gunfire.

Tristan Jackson says, “It was just kind of a scary ordeal for everyone around here.”

A security camera recorded this video of a car going down the 100 block of Johnson Street, when someone inside the car opens fire on a house.

“They came down and then they came back through and shot again.  It was just real scary in this neighborhood you know.”

Jackson lives, right next door to the house that seemed to be targeted during the drive by shooting.

“Me personally, I think that’s really irresponsible whoever did that.  Because you’re not only affecting the people you’re going after, it’s affecting those around.”

He says the bullets started flying, too close to his son’s bedroom.

“If it would have been five seconds sooner, it would have been right there at his window.”

Kelly Colvin with Marshall Police says they typically don’t receive a lot of information about suspect vehicles, but because of this video police are looking for a dark colored two door sedan.

“We ask people to put themselves in the victim’s shoes.  If it was you or your home being shot up and nearly missing you inside, you’d want someone with information to come forward.”

The house being fired at was hit by multiple bullets.  There were also several people inside of the home at the time of the shooting.  Fortunately no one was injured.
