Neighbors on Red Bud Lane are remembering a woman gone too soon.
“Sad. Especially for a young lady on my street,” said Jean Davis, a resident just down the street. “So close, down the street and close to my house… all these years nothing like that happening.”
Krystal Kennedy, mother of an 11-year old, was killed in a drive-by shooting on Saturday night. Neighbors believe it’s a sad case and hope it doesn’t happen again on the street.
“Anybody could’ve gotten shot,” said one man who did not want to be identified. “Besides that innocent girl.. I know I can bicker and complain and I want to do something… but what can we do?”
But the police say it’s hard to come across information on certain shootings.
“When we come to a scene, you would think who has been victimized,” said Shreveport Police Chief Alan Crump. “But many of them say, some of them outright say I’m not talking to the police.”
