Netflix movie starring Costner, Harrelson, to film in northwest Louisiana

Local News

The Shreveport-Bossier Film Office confirms scenes from a Netflix feature film will be shot in northwest Louisiana next month.

“The Highwaymen’ will star Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson. It is the story of the law enforcement pursuit of bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde. The pair were ultimately tracked to Bienville Parish in 1934.

Production and filming is based in Baton Rouge, but filming in northwest Louisiana will occur for 2 to 3 weeks in March.

Pam Glorioso, Chief Administrative Officer for Bossier City, and local film commission representative, says scenes will likely be shot in rural areas around Bossier City and Shreveport.

As Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu produce more films, Glorioso says this will help in future pitches to companies.

“Filming was kind of shaken up by the state of Louisiana, the tax credit program, and I think filmmakers once again are settling back down in Louisiana seeing that the program is more secure,” says Glorioso.
