No arrests in McCurtain County homicide

Local News

Investigators are following leads on the murder of a woman found in a rural creek in McCurtain County, Oklahoma on Monday night.

The body of 56-year-old Roxie Faizy was found wrapped in a chain in a greek off Water Mill Rd. near Valiant.

“Two individuals were walking the creek, they’re neighbors, and they located a body floating,” said McCurtain County Detective Devin Black.

The circumstances led detectives to investigate the case as a homicide.

“Her wrists weren’t bound, but they were ziptied to the chain, and the chain was kind of laced, or wrapped, around her body.” Black said.

Investigators said it’s unclear if there was a struggle or how long her body had been there. Faizy was identified through fingerprints. People who live nearby said the crime makes them uneasy.

“I just don’t know how it happened it’s crazy, really,” said Erik Erickson.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has taken the lead on the case. No arrests have been made.

Please call Special Agent Chad Dansby at (580) 704-7660 or Detective Devin Black with the McCurtain County Sheriff’s Office with any information.
