Special counsel Robert Mueller’s office has filed a sentencing memorandum in the case of former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
The memo says Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, has been helpful to the government and recommended that his sentence should not include prison time.
Prosecutors working for special counsel Mueller said Flynn has provided “substantial assistance to the government”.
The court filing is first glimpse into Flynn’s cooperation with the special counsel, but it offered few specifics.
“Basically all of the information about the ongoing investigation is redacted,” says former federal prosecutor Daniel Goldman. “It doesn’t include anything in public that we don’t know already.”
