UPDATE: The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the suspect who allegedly stabbed a man outside a local game room. The victim later died.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the suspect is Tony Glenn Dillard, 42, of . He is charged with the murder of Joseph Regan, 28, of Hallsville.
At around 4:00 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a business at 2335 Hwy 259 South in Diana, Texas on reports of a stabbing.
Deputies learned Regan had been stabbed outside the game room and was transported by private vehicle to a Longview hospital where he later died.
Authorities stated Regan was cut with an unknown object.
During a walking search of the area, deputies found Dillard hiding under a road bridge near a creek close to the intersection of FM 3245 and Hwy 259.
Dillard’s bond is set at $750,000.
One person has been arrested in connection to the death of Diana man early Sunday morning.
Around 4:00 a.m. Upshur County deputies responded to a business at 2335 Hwy 259 South in Diana, Texas in reference to a stabbing.
Deputies learned that an altercation outside of the business resulted in a stab wound to victim, Joseph Regan, a 28 year old male.
He was transported by private vehicle away from the scene but later died at Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview.
The investigation led to the identity of the alleged killer.
Later in the morning, deputies learned of the area where the suspect was believed to be hiding. Deputies responded to the area of FM 3245 and Hwy. 259.
During a walking search of the area, deputies located the suspect hiding under a road bridge near a creek. He was arrested and take to the Upshur County Jail where he was booked for Murder.
The suspect’s name is being withheld until he is arraigned on Monday morning.
