TEXARKANA, Texas – (KTAL/KMSS) Although a suspect probably thought he had gotten by the perfect crime when he stole a purse out of a car in the parking lot of a Texarkana Texas restaurant, he neglected to check for surveillance cameras.
According to Texarkana Texas police, what began as a nice Sunday evening seafood meal at Red Lobster for a Texarkana Texas couple, turned into a nightmare when they went out to their car after dinner and learned the purse had been stolen.
However, the suspect, referred to as ‘Mr. Sticky Fingers,’ by the TTPD on their Facebook Page, pulled into the parking lot in a newer black or dark blue Ford Mustang with Texas tags.
He parked next to the couple’s vehicle and apparently noticed the wife’s purse inside the couple’s unlocked car.
According to police, after getting in and out of his car a couple of times, the man went inside the restaurant and briefly looked around, but never went past the hostess’ podium.
He then walked back outside, took the woman’s purse from their vehicle, and immediately jumped in his car to leave.
In his vigilance to make sure nobody was watching, however, he forgot to check out the surveillance cameras, which were placed both inside and outside the restaurant.
Texarkana Texas police are hoping someone will recognize Mr. Sticky Fingers and give them a call, so If you know him, please call them at 903-798-3116 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
