Spread The Vote Louisiana will join the Juvenile Re-Entry Assistance Program (JRAP) to help expunge young people’s records and obtain IDs.

The event, called “Shreveport Youth Expungement” will provide people who are 24 and under and living in Section 8 housing with a process to clear their criminal records.

In addition to helping these young people get their records expunged, Spread The Vote will then ensure that everyone who attends the event has an ID.  Organizers say an ID will allow them to have access to opportunities, otherwise inaccessible without an ID, such as applying for jobs, getting medical care, and voting.

The event will be held Saturday, March 30th inside the Lakeside SPAR – Shreveport Parks and Recreation at 2200 Milam Street from 10 a.m to 2:00 p.m.
