“Paint Your Heart Out” kick-off celebration

Local

The City of Shreveport is helping beautify dozens of homes through an annual program.

The kick off celebration for next year’s “Paint Your Heart Out” was held Thursday night.

The Booker T. Washington High School band and Krewe of Sobek got the party started.

Next year’s “Paint Your Heart Out” will mark the program’s 26th year.

Every year more than 1,000 volunteers paint homes and do yard work for the elderly in neighborhoods throughout Shreveport.

More than 50 homes are painted every year through this program.
