The Parkway Panthers band receives a national honor.
They’re one of only 26 bands in the country invited to perform at the “Music for All” festival in Indianapolis. It’s the “Super-Bowl” for high school bands.
It takes place in March but the trip will cost 75-thousand dollars.
The Lieutenant Governor came to Parkway Tuesday to show his support.
“They make Louisiana look good and they make Louisiana shine. The teachers, the principal, the band director, you can feel it when you walk in the door it’s spotless you can feel the love and passion in the air here and it makes a difference in Louisiana,” said Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser.
The band will perform a free public concert this Thursday and will accept donations for their trip.
