Police look for answers in overnight shooting

Shreveport Police detectives are in the early stages of an investigation into a shooting which left one man dead in west Shreveport overnight.

Untarion Clark, 31, of the 2900 block of West Caperton, was taken to University Health hospital in Shreveport shortly after the shooting. He died there at 2:15 a.m.

Shortly after 1:30 a.m. on September 8, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to the 3100 block of West Caperton Street relative to a shots fired call. 

When they arrived, officers learned an adult male victim, later identified as Clark, was suffering what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the head. 

Based on preliminary information, authorities learned residents reported hearing several gunshots fired, prior to seeing Clark on the ground. 

There were no immediate descriptions available of potential suspects; however, investigators are working to gather additional information and evidence in relation to this matter.
