A woman who works as an administrator with the Waldron Public School District is facing charges after officials say she admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy student.
That’s according to a news release issued Tuesday by the Waldron Police Department (WPD).
Jessica Williams, 37, is facing up to five counts of Sexual Assault 1st degree and one count of Tampering with Evidence. She was booked into the Scott County Jail on Monday.
The release states that an investigation began on Monday after the WPD received a tip and a anonymous letter was left at the school district’s central office.
Police say the student was interviewed on Monday afternoon at the police department and told officers that he had been having a sexual relationship with the administrator since early in the summer. The boy also told police they had exchanged inappropriate photos on several occasions. The officers were able to obtain some evidence from the teen to support his statements.
Williams was arrested Monday afternoon following an interview with police at the Waldron Public School Central Office. Police say she admitted to having sexual contact with the boy on several occasions.
At the time of the incident, Williams was the Waldron Middle School assistant principal, according to the Waldron Public Schools website.
The WPD says it’s still investigating the case.
