Project Cam for roadway construction

Caddo Parish has a new way to check-in on road construction near your home.

It’s called Project Cam and it’s being rolled out by the Caddo Parish Public Works Department.

You can watch roadway construction projects being done in real-time. It’s online now through the Caddo Parish Public Work’s website.

The current project is replacing the bridge on Linwood Road and the Southern Loop. Officials said they get a lot of question from the public about how long projects will take, detours, and if construction crews are actually working.

“So we thought it was a great opportunity to be open and transparent and allow citizens the process as it unfolds as we make sure we take care of our roads and structures,” said Krystle Grindley, Caddo Parish Public Information Officer.

Funding for the cameras comes from the Caddo Parish Public Works budget. They’ll take the camera system to each new project. The parish plans to replace bridges on Providence, Pine Hill, and Keithville-Springridge road.
They also will be able to use the cameras during times of flooding.

Overall, the parish maintains 800 miles of roads and 166 bridges.
