The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying the person responsible for the parish’s first homicide of 2019.

Family members found 30-year-old Caleb Pippenger dead in the front yard of his Benton home during a family-gathering Friday night. The next day, the Coroner’s Office determined he died from a gunshot wound. Detectives said it’s a rural area that’s not traveled randomly.

“We sure know somebody has some answers and we are really asking for somebody to come forward with those answers. Again it just may be one clue as to a vehicle or they saw some type of vehicle, something odd or suspicious in that neighborhood or heard something,” said BPSO Lt. Bill Davis.

Crime-stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
