Quilt auction to benefit domestic violence, CASA

Local

Christmas baskets and a patriotic quilt are up for grabs at the circuit clerk’s office in Miller County, Arkansas.  Proceeds will benefit charity.

The Miller-Bowie Quilt Guild donated a stars and stripes-themed quilt, available through a silent auction.

Folks can also buy chances to win a theme basket on display in the office.  Among the themes are spa day, fishing, barbecue and italian dinner.  Proceeds will be donated to groups that assist victims of domestic violence and court appointed special advocates, also known as CASA.  Miller County Circuit Clerk Mary Pankey said, “Through our courts, our domestic courts we work a lot with domestic violence and through our juvenile court we work with CASA, and know what good they do and can see the results of when we give them money and give them our donations, we can see it’s put to good use.”

All winners will be announced on December 20th, just in time for Christmas!
