A Shreveport man wanted in connection with a bank robbery last week was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Dallas, Texas.
Quontez O’Neal’s spring vacation was cut short when he was taken into custody by local authorities in Dallas this afternoon.
Wearing a dark shirt and tie, the nattily dressed suspect topped off his ensemble with a plaid hat, which he did bother not take off when he entered the Regions Bank building in the 3700 block of Youree Drive last Friday, where he presented a note to the teller demanding money.
Fearing for her safety, the teller handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money.
Trip money in hand, the suspect fled from the bank on foot, and unfortunately, nobody happened to notice which way he went.
It could have been the perfect crime, except someone called CrimeStoppers and dropped the dime on the 38-year-old O’Neal.
Armed with their investigation and the CrimeStoppers’ tip, Shreveport Police detectives where able to obtain a warrant for O’Neal’s arrest. He was charged with a single court of 1st Degree Robbery.
From there, authorities were able to track O’Neal to Dallas, and the rest is history.
Following extradition, O’Neal will be booked on the outstanding warrant. His bond is set at $750,000.
