Congressman Mike Johnson says private investigators have been contacted to spy on Christian student groups at Benton High School.
In a Facebook post, Rep. Johnson says he received very credible information that atheist groups in California have contacted private investigators to hire them to get hidden video of activities at Benton Highand other Bossier schools.
Last week the Bossier School District voted to fight a federal lawsuit that claims the district unlawfully promotes religion in schools in a number of situations, including school athletic programs.
Due to that lawsuit, the district temporarily removed Christ Fit gym’s logo from the Benton High School football field. They ultimately voted to return the logo to the field.
The district has already spent $50,000 on legal fees stemming from the lawsuit.
The federal trial is set to begin next April.
