As the Sabine River’s water levels rise, the water continues to leave roads, homes, and communities submerged under water.
The on again and off again wet weather has made it even more difficult for the water to drain. Currently the river at 36 feet, in between Kilgore and Gladewater — which puts it almost 10 feet above flood stage.
“There’s only so much water we can take,” said Donna Jones, who lives along the banks of the Sabine River.
The water has moved into her front yard, to the point where she is using her waverunner boat to get around.
“There’s nothing you can do it about it though it’s mother nature so just do the best you can,” said Jones.
