BOSSIER PARISH, LA - A young lady with a giving heart donated 50 brand new furry friends to the Bossier Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
Julianna Gouthiere’s Bear Share donated the furry friends to Sgt. Tina Fruge at the Viking Drive Substaton. Patrol deputies will carry the stuff animals in their patrol vehicles to provide to children during difficult situations.
Julianna was just six years old when she started Bear Share in 2013. Through December 2018, Bear Share has donated more than 16,000 stuffed animals to various law enforcement agencies, hospitals, children’s advocate centers, fire departments, foster care programs, and more.
“When a deputy gives a stuff animal to a child during an investigation of a crime, it can surely be quite calming,” said Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington. “We are so appreciative of young Julianna for having such a compassionate heart to help other children in our community.”
