The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is hosting its annual Stone Soup Luncheon. Volunteers have been preparing for days to make it a success.
Beth Pesek, a Women’s Auxiliary member says, “our members have been extremely busy getting the soup prepared and decorating and baking cakes and selling tickets.” The proceeds fund kids programs, families who need assistance and the homeless shelter.
Salvation Army Major Louise Feeser adds, “last year we raised over 12-thousand dollars. We bought washers and dryers for our Center of Hope. They redid the Center of Hope family room.”
Volunteer Patrick Berry says, “like I said we’re helping the kids. We’re out here cleaning up anything we can do. I mean it’s a really great cause.” Feeser is grateful for the outpour of community support.”it’s awesome to see these beautiful women that take time out of their busy schedule to help us because we can’t do it on our own,” says Feeser.
