Southern Arkansas University is collecting items for Helping Hands for Houston, the school-sponsored disaster relief effort for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
SAU President Dr. Trey Berry said, ““People need things now, but they’re gonna need things six months from now, and they’re gonna need things a year from now.” Volunteer coordinator Deana Taylor said, “We bought fifteen totes already and pretty much they’re full, so we’re just adding to it, stacking it here in Overstreet until we get it .. where we decide which agency we’re going to partner with for things.”
Collection points will be inside the Watson Center and near both entrances to Wilkins Stadium. The Muleriders will be playing Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
