UPDATE: The Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office has cited the school bus driver after a crash Friday afternoon injured five students.
The driver was cited for failure to yield.
UPDATE: According to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 3:20 p.m. this afternoon at Highway 3 and Hackberry at the entrance to Cypress Bend subdivision.
The bus was carrying 37 students from Kingston Elementary.
Five children were transported to local hospitals with very minor injuries.
Parents are being notified to pick up their children at the corner of Hackberry and Benton Road.
The Bossier Sheriff’s Office has set up a mobile reunification center here on the site so that parents and guardians can reunite with their children.
Bossier Parish Schools officials and the Sheriff’s Office want folks to know there is no reason for panic; however traffic is an issue as law enforcement clears the scene.
Bossier Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies will conduct the crash investigation.
