School district to hold vigil for students killed in crash

The Marshall Independent School District is holding a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of two students who died in a car crash over the weekend.

The vigil will take place at 7 p.m. Monday inside the Maverick Stadium at 1209 E Pinecrest Dr.  The public is welcome to attend.

Ny’Jahl Armstrong and Derrick Bennett, two juniors at Marshall High School, were killed early Saturday morning after the car they were in left the road and crashed into a tree.

Two other students in the car, LaTavion Jackson and Jerrold Maze, were seriously injured in the accident.
