Shreveport Police Violent Crimes detectives have a second suspect in custody following a stabbing that sent two women to the hospital Tuesday morning.

Damien Updite, 38, was taken into custody and charged with attempted first degree murder in the March 13 stabbing of 34-year-old Whitney Haynes and 49-year-old Debra McDonald. On March 14, police arrested 36-year-old Bryan Todd in the same crime.

Just after 4 a.m. on March 13, 2018, Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to the 6900 block of Buncombe Road on reports of a stabbing.  As officers arrived at the location, they learned that Haynes and McDonald were suffering from multiple stab wounds following an attack by at least two men.

On March 14, police arrested Todd for his alleged role in the crime.  On March 15, detectives obtained a warrant for a second suspect, Updite,  charging him with Attempted First Degree Murder with bond set at $500,00.

Updite surrendered himself to detectives today, and following interviews, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on his warrant.
