Mount Pleasant Police said a serial robber hit a Verizon store in their city this week.
Investigators say the man, who was captured on surveillance video, robbed and tied up an employee Tuesday night, just before closing time. Lt. Mark Miller said, “He kept looking for phones. He asked for another phone, she said she would have to go back in the back. When she went in the back he followed her back there. Once she got the safe open he pulled a handgun.”
The woman’s hands and feet were bound with zip ties. She was shaken, but authorities said, unharmed. Police said this incident wasn’t the first for this suspect. They’ve linked him to at least three other incidents in Northeast Texas since last month. Miller said, “We’re convinced it’s the same guy, wearing some of the same clothing, same hat.”
Investigators said the suspect has hit stores in Rowlett, Farmer’s Branch and Duncanville. In fact, they said he robbed a store in Duncanville on the same day he struck in Mount Pleasant this week.
The suspect is described as a black male standing about five feet, nine inches tall, weighing about a hundred and seventy pounds. The suspect has gold front teeth and was wearing blue jeans tucked inside brown work boots. He wore a blue boonies style hat, and had dreadlocks at shoulder length. The suspect was seen leaving in what police say looks like a silver Hyundai Sonata.
