An update on a shooting in West Shreveport which left a seven-year-old injured.
The child’s mother is sharing what happened.
Just before nine p.m. Monday night, a shot is fired.
Tinisha Albert the mother of seven year old, Alaysia Henderson, says, “I kind of had company last night I was in the middle of braiding someone’s hair when I heard a loud pop.”
Seven year old, Alaysia Henderson, is struck by the bullet in a home on Merwin street.
Her mother is dealing with the shock of seeing her daughter struck by gun fire.
“They had took x-rays, and there was no broken bones or fractures or anything like that she was okay she was stable when we got there, her vitals where okay.”
Alaysia, shot in the leg, in the kitchen.
Tinisha’s says her son and her son’s friend were there with the child.
“By the time I ran into the kitchen Alaysia was headed into the living room, and I noticed blood dripping onto the floor and when I looked I kind of saw the wound, and had someone rush me over to LSU Hospital”
Police believe the son’s friend was armed with a gun.
“He come to the house a few times, but I don’t him personally, and after the incident happen he left.”
But the next day her daughter is back home and doing well.
Tinisha praying this doesn’t happen again.
“Just glad that, you know, it wasn’t worse, it could of been worse, I’m just glad that God was watching over her.”
Police are still looking for the person responsible and Shreveport Police did tell me that they do have a strong idea of the person responsible.
