The Shreveport Aquarium is facing another legal and financial setback.

A lawsuit filed on November 14th alleges, the aquarium owes Bossier Parish more than $29,000 in taxes.  According to court documents a final request for payment was made on November 1st.

Jon Whitehead, the co founder of Planet Aqua Group told NBC 6/Fox 33 News, the aquarium fell a little behind on taxes and will be caught up in the next 30 days.

A court date has been scheduled for January 10th.

Another lawsuit was filed in October by Rimmer Electric for failure to collect money for construction work.

Earlier this month the General Manager of the Shreveport Aquarium announced she stepped down from the aquarium.

Lisa Taylor Leach posted on her Facebook page that she resigned from her position at the aquarium.

Leach wrote:

“The Shreveport Aquarium is a wonderful place and hope all of you will continue to support them.”
