Shreveport man arrested on drug charges in DeSoto Parish

A traffic stop in DeSoto Parish lands a Shreveport man behind bars on drug charges.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m. Thursday deputies pulled over 28-year-old Cordarrel Cooksey on Hwy 171 in Stonewall for a traffic violation.

While talking with Cooksey deputies noticed marijuana on the floor board of his vehicle.

Deputies then searched the vehicle and found digital scales, over $2,000 in cash, over 700 grams of ecstasy and 2.5 ounces of suspected marijuana.

Cooksey was arrested and booked into the DeSoto Parish Detention Center on the following charges:

  • No Proof of Insurance
  • License Plate Light
  • Possession of Schedule I MDMA (Ecstasy) with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of Schedule I Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
