Local

On Christmas Day at 11:55 p.m. Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to I-20 East at the 3132 East exit ramp relative to a major accident.

A Peterbuilt tractor-trailer operated by 58-year-old James Hollis, of Alexandria, Louisiana, was traveling eastbound on the interstate when a male pedestrian entered the roadway which resulted in Hollis’ vehicle hitting him.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene.

Hollis voluntarily submitted to routine impairment tests and investigators do not believe he was impaired.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
