Shreveport takes to social media over sports arena

To build or not to build… That’s the question surrounding the proposed sports complex in downtown Shreveport.

An economic impact study was conducted for the project and presented at yesterday’s Shreveport City Council meeting.

According to the findings… The facility will bring 563 new jobs during the construction phase and will generate 25-million dollars annually.

Several members of the council and Mayor Ollie Tyler clashed when discussing details surrounding the project.

Today (Tuesday) the council will vote whether or not to move forward with the project.

Here’s what people are saying on our Facebook page;

Russ weighs in by saying

“Tired of politicians like Mayor Tyler and people who live in southern trace telling us what’s best for ourselves.”

Then Debbie says ” Why should the public waste their voices? Nobody in city government listens to the public…”

Cheryl adds…

 “In no way shape or form am i for this ridiculous complex. Waste of money!”
