Shreveport Police clocked the sixth person shot this weekend, after an early morning shooting in east Shreveport left a man seriously injured. Two of the six people shot – all males – have died.

Shreveport Police responded to reports of a man arriving at University Health Hospital suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper body just before 6 this morning.  The victim’s injuries were described as life-threatening.

Investigators with the violent crimes unit were summoned and responded to the hospital.

Through interviews they learned that the victim and a passenger were traveling in the victim’s vehicle and stopped near the intersection of Youree Drive and Herndon Street.

The passenger advised that an unknown make and model vehicle was stopped beside them and an unknown person inside of that vehicle began firing at them, striking the victim. The victim was then transported to University Health Hospital for medical attention. Officers were able to locate the crime scene and collected several items of evidence. The Investigation continues at this hour.
