Shreveport Police have named a man believed responsible for robbing a woman in late November.

Jamarcus Sewell, 26, has been identified as the suspect and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Just after 2 a.m. on Nov. 23, Shreveport Police responded to reports of an armed robbery in the 3600 block of Beckham Drive.

Officers arrived and located the female victim who advised that she was leaving an apartment complex in the block when a male subject approached her vehicle armed with a handgun.

The suspect opened the door of her car and demanded that she surrender everything she had. He took the victim’s purse, which contained undisclosed items of value, and fled on foot.

Investigators with Shreveport Police Department’s Robbery Task Force were assigned to the case. Through their investigation, they were able to identify Sewell of the 3700 block of Valley View Drive, as the alleged robber.

They obtained a warrant for Sewell’s arrest, charging him with one count of Armed Robbery. His bond was set at $200,000.00.

Investigators are asking the public to contact Shreveport Caddo Crime Stoppers with information that can help locate and arrest Sewell. They can be contacted at 318-673-7373 or at their website at Lockemup.org. Crime Stoppers only wants your information, not your name.
